Doesn’t a relaxing sub-tropical holiday by the beach sound inviting? Seaview Resort Mooloolaba on the Queensland Sunshine Coast is located directly opposite the ocean and is perfectly located to explore all that this spectacular region has to offer.
Here is Seaview Resort’s top eight ways to relax on the Sunshine Coast.
1 – Explore the beach
Sunshine Coast beaches are renowned for their beauty and are the perfect place to spend time during your holiday. With the beach on your doorstep at Seaview Resort, you can step out each day and explore the coastline. Discover rock pools filled with little fish caught by the retreating water, splash through the waves as they rush up the sand, sit and enjoy a radiant sunset or sunrise, collect sea shells or just relax and listen to the sounds of the surf.
2 – Coastal beach picnic and bike ride
Make up some delicious snacks or a picnic lunch, grab some towels and enjoy the beaches and parklands around Mooloolaba. There are so many places to grab a patch of sand that you will be spoilt for choice. You can kick back on Mooloolaba Spit Beach and enjoy a day of sun, surf and sand, use one of the many picnic tables at Mooloolaba Spit BBQ area or walk around to Point Park and the rock wall at the southern end of the beach and perch on one of the large boulders. Holidays wouldn’t be complete without fish and chips by the ocean and Alex Bluff Foreshore Park with its million dollar views is the perfect place to enjoy them. If you are feeling energetic you could hire a bike and ride along the beachfront esplanade. Who knows what amazing picnic spot you might discover.
3 – Take a dip
Swimming in the ocean is one of the most memorable things about a Sunshine Coast beach holiday and Mooloolaba is the place to create some fun memories. It’s a patrolled beach and surf lifesavers are usually on patrol to ensure that your trip to the beach is a safe one. If you feel like a swim, don’t forget to check when the beach is patrolled and only swim during this time, and only between the red and yellow flags!
4 – Check out a local waterfall
Less than 20 minutes’ drive inland from Seaview Resort is the magical town of Buderim, gateway to the Buderim Forest Waterfall Walk (also known as Serenity Falls). Start the day exploring this quaint town which was established in 1862 and is famed for being the oldest established European town on the Sunshine Coast. Grab your picnic and head to the Buderim Forest Waterfall Walk, which is hidden less than 1 kilometre from the village and spans 45 hectares of dense rainforest, tree ferns, waterfalls and pools. There are two entry points to the trail. One is Lindsay Road and the second is via Quorn Close. Stop to admire the spectacular waterfall from the bridge or clamber down to the water’s edge.
5 – Discover SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast, Australia Zoo and more!
The Sunshine Coast is home to some of Australia’s favourite attractions including the world famous Australia Zoo and Mooloolaba’s very own SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast.
