With the weather warming does the thought of a relaxing sub-tropical holiday by the beach sound inviting? Seaview Resort Mooloolaba on the Queensland Sunshine Coast is offering some great specials guaranteed to entice you. Here is Seaview Resort’s top eight ways to relax on the Sunshine Coast.
1 – Explore the beach
Sunshine Coast beaches are renowned for their beauty and are the perfect place to spend time during your holiday. With the beach on your doorstep at Seaview Resort, you can step out each day and explore the coastline. Discover rock pools filled with little fish caught by the retreating water, splash through the waves as they rush up the sand, sit and enjoy a radiant sunset or sunrise, collect sea shells or just relax and listen to the sounds of the surf.
2 – Coastal beach picnic and bike ride
Make up some delicious snacks or a picnic lunch, grab some towels and enjoy the beaches and parklands around Mooloolaba. There are so many places to grab a patch of sand that you will be spoilt for choice. You can kick back on Mooloolaba Spit Beach and enjoy a day of sun, surf and sand, use one of the many picnic tables at Mooloolaba Spit BBQ area or walk around to Point Park and the rock wall at the southern end of the beach and perch on one of the large boulders. Holidays wouldn’t be complete without fish and chips by the ocean and Alex Bluff Foreshore Park with its million dollar views is the perfect place to enjoy them. If you are feeling energetic you could hire a bike and ride along the beachfront esplanade. Who knows what amazing picnic spot you might discover.
3 – Take a dip
Swimming in the ocean is one of the most memorable things about a Sunshine Coast beach holiday and Mooloolaba is the place to create some fun memories. It’s a patrolled beach and surf lifesavers are usually on patrol to ensure that your trip to the beach is a safe one. If you feel like a swim, don’t forget to check when the beach is patrolled and only swim during this time, and only between the red and yellow flags!
4 – Scenic hinterland adventure
Less than 20 minutes’ drive inland from Seaview Resort is the magical town of Buderim, gateway to the Buderim Forest Waterfall Walk. Start the day exploring this quaint town which was established in 1862 and is famed for being the oldest established European town on the Sunshine Coast. Grab your picnic and head to the Buderim Forest Waterfall Walk, which is hidden less than 1 kilometre from the village and spans 45 hectares of dense rainforest, tree ferns, waterfalls and pools. There are two entry points to the trail. One is Lindsay Road and the second is via Quorn Close. Stop to admire the spectacular waterfall from the bridge or clamber down to the water’s edge. Feeling brave? Take a dip in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall but be prepared as it might be a bit chilly!
5 – See a big pineapple
If you want to see a big pineapple, and we mean big, you can take a drive to the heritage-listed Big Pineapple. Standing at an impressive 16 metres high, it has an observation deck and onsite café where you can grab a takeaway coffee or snack. If you have the time you can visit Wildlife HG and its 200 native and exotic animals, which is just next door. Wildlife HQ is set in a stress-free rainforest environment that allows you to explore the grounds and get up-close-and-personal with the inhabitants. The Big Pineapple is less than 20 minutes’ drive from Seaview Resort. Why not make a day of it?
6 – Fully self-contained apartments
There’s nothing more relaxing than a home-away-from-home holiday apartment, especially when it’s located next to a glorious beach and just minutes from the centre of Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast. At Seaview Resort you’ll enjoy your own 1, 2 or 3-bedroom self-contained accommodation complete with a fully-equipped kitchen, lounge with dining area, air conditioning, linen and towels, laundry facilities and a large private balcony overlooking the Coral Sea. 7 – Did someone say food?
Your Seaview Resort holiday apartment kitchen is just perfect for creating a delicious home cooked meal that you can enjoy in your own dining area or on the balcony watching the colours of the ocean change as the sun sets. Sounds idyllic? It is. There’s a Coles Supermarket conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk away in the Mooloolaba Central Shopping Centre where you can pick up all your supplies and more, or you could head down to the Mooloolaba fish markets to pick up some fresh seafood. Feel like a night off from cooking? Then head down to the Esplanade and surrounding streets where you will spoilt for choice with an extensive range of restaurants and cafes offering amazing dine in or takeaway. Why not mix it up with a home cooked meal then pop out for a mouth-watering ‘home-made’ ice-cream or gelato as you watch the passing world. Why not, you’re on holiday!
