Great review for the Seaview Resort

We love it when guest give us feedback, good or bad. This is the best way we can improve our service and make sure we offer the best possible holiday experience to our guests.

This is the latest review from a very happy guest on Trip Advisor

“Family getaway to sunny coast”

Our room on Level 12 was very modern and very tastefully furbished with all the latest mod. cons including dishwasher & dryer. Never stayed up this high before as thought it would be too noisy but found this not to be so with the view being excellent which will have us wanting to go higher not lower in future. Tried just about all amenities including sauna, pool, tennis court, pool table and games and found all great – kept the kids amused. Also were able to bring along our own games and hook up to TV/DVD. The service was good – we had a problem with DVD remote control not working and shower rose problems. These issues were resolved and dealt with promptly. Service was efficient and friendly. Enjoyed the excellent location of resort & being so close to beach & shops meant not having to drive the car much at all as we could walk to most locations, even had a supermarket just around the corner. This was our 2nd stay in the last few years and we have no hesitation in recommending this resort to others and would be very happy to stay here again.

Head to the Buderim Ginger Factory on the Sunshine Coast for a Great Day Out

Ginger Factory Yandina

The sun was shinning and  I had a day off with no plans, so I decided to head to the Buderim Ginger Factory in Yandina. I was pleasantly surprised.  There is plenty to do, so if you go for a visit make sure you have a few hours.

First I was taken on a Taste of Ginger Tour and shown the different stages of growing though to production. At the end they give you a taster of the different ways in which you can use ginger in cooking. My favourite was the Ginger soaked pineapple.

I just missed the train ride so decided to walk around the beautiful gardens full of wild ginger plants and then had a look round their quaint shops which included a macadamia nut shop, a toy shop, a scent shop and an Australian souvenir shop with dead toad wallets!!!

Next was the Superbee Live Bee Show. This was really interesting learning about the life of a bee and its hive. This also ended with honey tasting.

If this wasn’t enough they also have a train ride that takes you through the beautiful gardens, an indoor boat ride for the youngsters and cooking classes.

If you are staying on the Shinshine Coast, the Ginger Factory is not to be missed.

Harry’s on Buderim

Harrys on Buderim

We had another birthday in the family last night so decided to try Harry’s on Buderim. The restaurant is set in one of Buderim’s earliest build homes dating back to 1880. The building was moved to it present location and loving resorted in 1990.

As we had booked a table for 7pm, it was dark when we arrived. I plan to take a trip back during the day to look at the beautiful building and its surroundings by day.

The food was amazing and we where extremely well looked after by owner/manager and his son. We where informed that in the colder month the dinning is moved inside to the Fire Room for a really cosy intimate experience.

Sunshine Coast Wedding Restaurant Venues

Harry’s on Buderim is a definitely a beautiful Buderim Sunshine Coast Restaurant, great for all occasions and Weddings.

Kenilworth Cheese, Wine and Food Festival

Its coming to my favorite time of year….Easter. This is the one time of year you can pig out on chocolate and not feel guilt…that is till you step on the scales!

If you fancy something other than chocolate, the best place to head to is Kenilworth on Saturday April 23rd for their annual cheese, wine and food festival. This is not to be missed.

There is an action packed day for the whole family, such as Cheester Egg Hunt, Cheese Rolling Contest, Bushfire Cooking, Cheese Making, Line Dancing OR just wonder around the numerous stalls and taste test the local produce.

Sounds like my perfect day :-).

10 Great Reasons to Visit Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast

1.   Its easy to get to Mooloolaba either by road or air. Its is only one hour and half north of Brisbane and twenty minutes from Sunshine Coast airport

 2.   Mooloolaba has Incredibly Beautiful Beaches which are patrolled. This makes them ideal for families with young children as well as the keen surfer.

 3.   Countless attractions to visit in the area. Besides the obvious Australia Zoo, Underwater World and Aussie World we have The Big Pineapple, The Ginger Factor, Bli Bli Castle, Top Shot Fun Park, Bellingham Maze, dive the EX HMAS Brisbane. The list goes on.

 4.   Mooloolaba is famous for its delicious Mooloolaba Prawns, however it doesn’t stop there. The fishing trawlers come in every morning and supply the fish restaurants on wharf with fresh seafood.

 5.   Take a Romantic Getaway. You can either lock yourself away for a few days or you can venture out and explore the beautiful surrounding country side. Take a trip up to Montville and Maleny and discover the boutique shops restaurants, winery’s and cheese factory in the area.

 6.   Mooloolaba and the surrounding Sunshine Coast has many high standard Golf Courses. To start with we have the Hyatt Regency Coolum PGA course, as well as Noosa Springs Golf Club, Peregian Springs Golf Club, Twin Waters Golf Club, Horton Park, Caloundra Golf Club. Again the list goes on.

7.   Eating out in Mooloolaba is a culinary adventure. There is something for everyone and all budgets. At the cheaper end we have Browns famous fish and chips or Thai Seasons which has been serving ridiculously cheap Thai food for years. In the mid range you could choose Karma Waters which serves faultless breakfast, lunch and dinners, or Cracked Pepper. If you fancy splashing out and love seafood and steak you can not go past M at Mooloolaba. Their seafood platters are to die for. Unlike many seafood platters there is nothing that looks like it came from the fish and chip shop round the corner!

 8.   There are several Local Markets in the area. The largest and most famous is the Eumundi Markets held on a Wednesday and Saturday. Also in the area is Beerwah Village Craft Market, Coolum Market, Yandina Makers Market, Maleny Art Craft & Collectables, Cotton Tree Market just to name a few!

 9.   Mooloolaba triathlon held in the last weekend of March. This event brings 1000s of people to the area each year and includes the Male and female elites, groups, Asics Twilight Run, Australian Power and Gas Ocean Swim and Superkidz Trialthlon.

 10. Last but not least, staying at the Seaview Resort. You can sit back and relax on your lovely balcony looking out to sea or you can either walk or take a short drive to everything that has been mentioned above. Click here to see what our past guests say about the Seaview Resort Mooloolaba.

Kirk’s English Patisserie – Only a short drive from the Seaview

We try to get out for a coffee as often as possible so we can enjoy this beautiful coast. We have recently stumbled  across Kirk’s English Patisserie only a short drive from the Seaview.

Being Pom’s ourselves it was great to find somewhere that serves excellent coffee and the best Eccles cakes I have had in Australia. Next on the list to try is the pork sausage rolls, bakewell tart, pork pie and ploughman’s….The list goes on.

We normally sit in the back courtyard admiring the beautiful yachts at their moorings.
