Special 1

Montville is an exceptionally charming little village perched on the Blackall Range. It is a wonderful place to visit- cool and leafy you can enjoy a stroll around the many boutique shops, art galleries, cafes and pick up some wonderful homemade craft wears. First settled in 1887, Montville is located close to the Kondalilla National Park – a great place to go bushwalking, have a picnic or cool down in a waterfall. The views from Montville of the Sunshine Coast are absolutely breathtaking, and there are so many things to see and enjoy once you venture out to the Hinterland.

Special 1

If you come to Seaview and stay in a Headland or a Sunrise suite you will get a view out the back of Mooloolaba to the Glass House Mountains. Unusually shaped and very striking they are the remnants of ancient volcanoes and they are well worth a visit. About a half hour drive from Mooloolaba to the National Park there are a selection of sealed and unsealed roads throughout the area depending on your vehicle. At the Glass House Mountain Lookout in the Beerburrum State Forest there is a lovely (not too difficult) half hour circular walk which takes you through the woods then back up to the lookout. There are many other tracks and walks if you fancy a dose of nature, or you can use this route to drive up to Maleny or Montville to enjoy the shops and cafes in the Hinterland.

Mooloolaba Restaurant Review

Sakana Sushi Bar and Restaurant and Japanese BBQ

Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba

Special 1

This is Japanese food done to perfection and to prove it we couldn’t get a table two nights in a row last week! Which prompted me to sneak down there for lunch so I could let you into a Mooloolaba secret, this place is amazing. If you like super fresh sushi, sashimi, Japanese bbq (like bacon wrapped shitake) and a selection of noodle, curries and bento boxes you must head down to the Spit. The walk from Seaview is great, you can stay Ocean side the whole way and it will take about 20min to half an hour to stroll round the bay.

Sakana only use the freshest seafood, which Mooloolaba has in abundance, and get a lot of their produce from the fishermen right on their door step. I had the teriyaki salmon bento box with Japanese salad, mixed tempura, miso and rice. I cannot rate this place highly enough, it is a very special treat, but if you need an evening meal please book in advance!
