Ginger Factory Yandina

The sun was shinning and  I had a day off with no plans, so I decided to head to the Buderim Ginger Factory in Yandina. I was pleasantly surprised.  There is plenty to do, so if you go for a visit make sure you have a few hours.

First I was taken on a Taste of Ginger Tour and shown the different stages of growing though to production. At the end they give you a taster of the different ways in which you can use ginger in cooking. My favourite was the Ginger soaked pineapple.

I just missed the train ride so decided to walk around the beautiful gardens full of wild ginger plants and then had a look round their quaint shops which included a macadamia nut shop, a toy shop, a scent shop and an Australian souvenir shop with dead toad wallets!!!

Next was the Superbee Live Bee Show. This was really interesting learning about the life of a bee and its hive. This also ended with honey tasting.

If this wasn’t enough they also have a train ride that takes you through the beautiful gardens, an indoor boat ride for the youngsters and cooking classes.

If you are staying on the Shinshine Coast, the Ginger Factory is not to be missed.

Harry’s on Buderim

Harrys on Buderim

We had another birthday in the family last night so decided to try Harry’s on Buderim. The restaurant is set in one of Buderim’s earliest build homes dating back to 1880. The building was moved to it present location and loving resorted in 1990.

As we had booked a table for 7pm, it was dark when we arrived. I plan to take a trip back during the day to look at the beautiful building and its surroundings by day.

The food was amazing and we where extremely well looked after by owner/manager and his son. We where informed that in the colder month the dinning is moved inside to the Fire Room for a really cosy intimate experience.

Harry’s on Buderim is a definitely a beautiful Buderim Sunshine Coast Restaurant, great for all occasions and Weddings.
