There are fun packed main beaches, quiet tucked away beaches, rocky exploring beaches, rough and surfy beaches, calm and shady beaches… with mile after mile of golden sandy beaches. Mooloolaba beach right on our door step is a gorgeous wide bay, with two patrolled sections to choose from surrounded by boardwalks, cafes and parks all for you to enjoy.

Rock pooling - My children can spend hours pottering on the rocks just along the front from Seaview Resort. It’s lovely to find a perch, dip your feet in the cool water and watch children do what they do best- explore nature and their imaginations flow. Fish and chips at the Spit- a leisurely 20 minute amble (or a quick drive) along Mooloolaba’s beach front takes you round to the Spit. This is the perfect place for fish and chips with lots of restaurants to choose from. It is also the place to buy all your fresh sea food straight off the trawler. There are picnic tables and a park for the children to entertain themselves whilst you sit

If you do happen to experience rain on your Mooloolaba holiday, here are some alternative indoor activities that kids are sure to enjoy.

The Big Boing - Indoor trampoline heaven for the kiddies. Book online for your slot, turn up and bounce to your hearts content. You’ll need a car for this one as it’s about 20mins down the road from Mooloolaba.

Chipmunks -  Indoor play park for the children, next door to the Big Boing. Clean, well kept, with lots of climbing and ball pits to keep the little’uns amused.

Sunshine Plaza – If the Sun’s not shining then it’s time to shop! Sunshine Plaza is a short drive away or the bus stop is literally just out the front of our Resort.

Cinemas - Birch Carroll and Coyle located at Sunshine Plaza. We always have the weekly listings printed on the notice board by reception and with a write up on each film to help with your choice.

Cafes –  There are so many lovely places to sit and grab a coffee and cake and watch the world go by. Mooloolaba Esplanade is the perfect place for relaxed holiday people watching.

Rain or shine, there is always something for everyone to enjoy and we hope that you will enjoy a wonderful holiday in our beautiful part of the world.

Point Cartwright

A great place to visit, right on our door step, Point Cartwright is the spit of land on the other side of the river from Mooloolaba harbour. You have to drive there but it’s well worth a visit as there are nice walks, a nature reserve, a little park, outdoor exercise equipment and quite spots along the river for a peaceful swim. It’s a lovely pace to stroll and take in the beautiful views and you can walk round the coast line onto the stretch of golden sands that leads all the way down to Caloundra. There is good surf around the point and it’s a good spot to sit and watch the action.

Eumundi Markets

One word- AMAZING! So much colour, so much to see. Chocked full of handmade goodies, arts, crafts, clothes and delicious food stalls. There is entertainment ranging from musicians to magicians to pony rides. Eumundi Village is a very special place and it hosts some very special and unique markets every Wednesday and Saturday mornings. It is also just up the road from Noosa so it is quite easy to combine the two into a day out. Eumundi Markets are about a 40min drive from Mooloolaba but if you don’t have a car don’t worry! We can The Hinterland- the Hinterland surrounding Mooloolaba is absolutely stunning. With gorgeous little places to visit perched high on the ridge overlooking the Coast. What’s new on the Sunshine Coast – Great things to see and do

Aussie World on the Sunshine Coast

Aussie World is one of the Sunshine Coast oldest and most famous attractions. Over the last few years they have been continuously changing and adding new attractions to keep people coming back again and again.

One of their new attractions is the Leak`n Logs. This is their new water play area which has a walk through mist shed sitting underneath a leaky corrugated iron water tank. Random tipping buckets, intermittent and continuous showers, an outback log waterfall, irregular dancing water jets and a tin shed that inside emulates a typical Queensland electrical storm complete with thunder, wind, lighting and rain. Perfect way to cool of on a hot Queensland summers day.

8 Free Activities in Mooloolaba and the Sunshine Coast this June School Holiday

May 17, 2013

School holidays are great but they can get very expensive, especially when you have more then one child to entertain. Here are a few ideas of what you can see and do in Mooloolaba and the Sunshine Coast that won`t cost you a cent.

  1. Head to Loo with a view on a Wednesday evening and join the Drum Circle and fire twirlers down on the beach. All ages welcome, even the little kiddies can join in with their own drum.
  2. Explore the Maroochy wetlands near Bli Bli. There is a boardwalk through the wet lands where you can see wet and dry eucalypt forests, rainforest, melaleuca forest, casuarina woodland, salt marsh and mangroves. You can watch over 200 species of birds, as well as crabs, butterflies and other wildlife species that make the wetlands their home.
  3. Just along from Mooloolaba’s beautiful sandy patrol beach is some amazing rock pools. Big and small kids love the rock pools and its amazing what they can find and how long this will keep them amused.
  4. During the school holidays there is a petting zoo at Mooloolaba Wharf. Introduce the children to the friendly goats, fluffy chickens and cute lambs.
  5. For the energetic one, take a walk to the Mooloolaba’s rock wall. All you have to do is cross the road in front of the Seaview Resort and join the walking track. You can follow the track along the beach and through the boardwalk and past some play parks or walk on the beach picking up seashells. The round trip is about 5kms. If you get hungry along the way you can stop off at the wharf and get some fresh fish and chips.
  6. Have a BBQ on the beach front. Most people head to the BBQ’s near the surf club but my favorite BBQ area is just past the boardwalk. They are less busy and view is amazing.
  7. Every Saturday from 6.30am there is an all weather market at the The Big Pineapple. There are so many interesting stalls to wonder around and many of the food stalls offer free samples. There is also plenty of space out on the grass for the kids to run around. My favorite thing to do is buy some yummy food from the stalls and sit on the grass and have a picnic.
  8. If you have booked a holiday at the Seaview Resort at Mooloolaba, the kids can borrow tennis rackets for a hit about on the tennis court or borrow a board game reception while you can unwind in the sauna or relax by the heated swimming pool…great facilities at this Mooloolaba Resort.

If you are after a great deal on Mooloolaba Accommodation, then Seaview Resort is offering stay 7 pay for 5 or stay 3 pay for 2. Be quick as this is subject to allocations.  To take advantage of this great deal you can call or friendly staff on 07 5444 3400 or book on line by entering the code promotional code 745 or 342.

Hot Pipis Mooloolaba

Hot Pipis has been open since 1993 and is loved by loyal locals and tourists alike. Open for 18hrs a day you are always going to be given a warm welcome whether is just for a coffee in the morning or a sumptuous 3 course meal in the evening.

The breakfast menu has many of your classics plus a few `quirky` options including chef`s Sicilian sunrise, house made baked beanz, house baked brioche and chef`s traditional recipe fruit toast. The lunch menu covers everything from tapas, burgers, pasta, salad and seafood which include their famous seafood curry. An evening meal at Hot Pipis can be a quick bit to eat or a delectable 3 course meal. Our personal favourites are the Mooloolaba prawns with sesame and soy glaze, wakame salad, pickled ginger, cherry tomatoes and chilli oil to start, followed by Hot Pipis famous seafood curry for main and any of the tantalising deserts.

To top of their incredible food and service Hot Pipis also generously donate their time and often their kitchen to help raise money for their chosen charities. This includes Christmas day where you can enjoy coffee and cake for a donation. What an amazing team.
