15th July – The Valley Rattler Bushranger Hold-Up 3rd Sunday each Month. Join the Mary Valley Rattler for this great day of historical re-enactment in conjunction with your Rattler journey on the third Sunday of each month. “The Valley Rattler” steam heritage tours are operated by The Mary Valley Heritage Railway (MVHR) every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesdays. Tours depart from the historic Gympie Railway station and the destination varies according to the day of operation. 14th – 29th July – ‘The Colour of Light’ Exhibition of art by Kevin Oxley The full spectrum of colour is explored in these new artworks by noted Australian artist Kevin Oxley at Art on Cairncross near Maleny in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland. Metaphors from ancient times are shown to be as valid today as then.
