Mooloolaba Things To See and Do

November 4, 2016

A great thing to do on your holiday in Mooloolaba is take a stroll around the Mooloolaba Bay to the Spit. It’s a leisurely 25 minute stroll to get all the way around and you can drive there via Parkyn Parade if you would prefer. We recommend the walk as there are lots of things to see and do on the way.

Many guests that come to stay do not realise that there are two patrolled swimming areas in Mooloolaba, one in the centre of town opposite the Surf Club and the other round the bay. The sea is quieter the further round you go, and if you go right round towards the harbour wall at the mouth of the river there are almost no waves at all and makes great paddling for little ones. There is also more tree cover around that side if you fancy sitting in the shade and enjoying the beach without the full glare of the sun.

From Seaview Resort you can enjoy all of Mooloolaba’s wonderful shops and cafes as you stroll round to the Surf Club. Carrying on past the Surf Club there is a beautiful board walk through the trees round to the second patrolled beach. If you enjoy your exercise the walk round to the Spit and back is a great walk or run and there are outside exercise stations along the route including one right opposite Seaview Resort. There are three great play parks for children along this route, one outside the Surf Club, another one past the second patrolled beach in a nice bit of parkland with bbq area great for picnics, and the third is at the end of the Spit in the middle of the parking circle at the end. Again, this one is surrounded by bbq’s and seating and many people grab some food whilst the children run and play. Which brings me round to food! So many people ask me where all the fish and chip shops are? They are at the Spit! There is a great selection from Mooloolaba fine dining restaurants “Fish on Parkyn”, fresh sushi “Sakana”, fresh seafood to cook yourself at the fish market and of course good ol’ fish and chips. There are many restaurant reviews further down in this blog section.
